Intimate and Romantic - The 1900 Inn on Montford invites you to be our guest and discover bed and breakfast comfort and hospitality with a warmth and graciousness that is reminiscent of Biltmore's Gilded Age.
The Inn is located in the very heart of the Montford Historic District. It exemplifies the Arts and Crafts style made popular in Asheville by noted society architect, Richard Sharp Smith, supervising Architect to Biltmore House. Illustrated in his publication of 1901, My Sketchbook, the house is considered to be one of his finest residential commissions. Today it is a AAA Four-Diamond bed and breakfast inn elegantly furnished with English and American antiques dating from 1730 to 1910.

Griffin Cottage, our new carriage house to the rear of the main Inn, offers Pet Friendly accommodation in its three secluded suites! The William Morris and Rossetti are on the ground floor, while the Cloisters is the entire second floor of the carriage house. All have private, enclosed back gardens.
There are four second floor guest rooms and one third floor suite, Zelda's Retreat, in the main inn. Our Fitzgerald room has finished a 14 month renovation. It's gorgeous!
We serve a delicious three-course breakfast with a fruit course, savory egg dish and dessert at 9 am preceded by the arrival of coffee or tea to your door at 8 am in the main inn.
Guests in Griffin Cottage have breakfast delivered to their door at 9:30 am.
We have a social hour each evening from 6 to 7 pm. You'll have a the opportunity to chat with other guests and we'll give you our favorite dining recommendations.
We feature live music on Saturday nights during social hour with local musicians playing a mixture of blue grass and "mountain music". Here's a video of us and two of our musicians. Enjoy!
