Bed & Breakfast in Historic Asheville

Due to the current health crisis and Buncombe County's 'Stay Home, Stay Safe' order, we are not accepting any bookings until April 9th at 6am. We will use this downtime to catch up on projects around the Inn to offer you an even greater experience when we reopen our doors. We are taking overly-cautious sanitary measures to ensure peace of mind for our guests planning to visit at a later point in time.

Keep an eye out on our website and Instagram for any updates. We will be observing how the situation evolves and adjusting accordingly. We miss all of our guests and we cannot wait to welcome you all to our home again. Please stay safe and take care of yourselves and each other so that we can overcome this crisis together sooner. We may be isolated, but are more united than ever.

With love, Shawnie and Willy

Welcome to the 1900 Inn on Montford

Indulge, relax, and enjoy. That’s what we want all of our guests to do.

Experience the warmth, luxury, and personal touches of one of the most charming bed and breakfasts in Asheville’s historic district.

Step onto the bed and breakfast grounds and you might notice that there’s a story behind everything you see here. We’ll tell you those stories and show you around, but first, enjoy a scratch-made cookie or a locally roasted espresso in the beautiful light of the inn’s sunroom.

Once you’re refreshed from your travels and settled into your plush accommodations, wander back to the spacious main house. Take a tour, find a cozy corner to savor with a book, or enjoy connecting with other guests by stoked fire in the winter or a  breezy summer porch.

An inn for every kind of Asheville adventurer

Outdoor thrill-seekers, history buffs, and art and music aficionados alike all feel at home in our expansive Arts and Crafts style bed and breakfast. It’s the perfect spot to rest your head or put your feet up after a day’s adventure!

We’ve curated the main house, guest rooms, and suites to offer a special yet relaxing home base that’s only mere steps from gourmet restaurants, minutes from the center of town, and a short drive from endless mountain escapades in every direction.

We’d love to help you plan your days here, and we can help you curate adventures as thoughtfully as we do the inn furnishings and three-course breakfasts.

Is your four-legged friend a part of the adventure? Excellent. We have a pet-friendly suite (or three) that we think you and your dog will love!

The Inn exemplifies the Arts and Crafts style made popular in Asheville by noted society architect, Richard Sharp Smith, supervising Architect to Biltmore House. The house is considered to be one of his finest residential commissions. Today it is a AAA Four-Diamond rating and is a part of Select Registry. bed and breakfast inn elegantly furnished with English and American antiques dating from 1730 to 1910.

A bed and breakfast experience that’s impressive, never pretentious—just like Asheville!

No detail is too small when it comes to rest, relaxation, and fun! Each room and suite features bathrooms that will delight, pamper, and relax you with elements ranging from fiber-optic “starry” floors, whirlpools, ceiling mounted rain head showers with multiple jets and a steam bath, to Roman baths with water recirculating over your shoulders. This is luxury and restoration rarely experienced in historical bed and breakfast inns!

Aside from the stunning bathrooms, our accommodations are all furnished with cozy fireplaces. Each room is a mini escape of its own and a stay here will have you ready to take on the world anew.

We would like to invite you for a virtual tour of our Inn! You can choose the part of the house you want to see by clicking on it on the right-hand-side of the video, or you can let the video play in full to view the whole house room by room. We are looking forward to showing you around in person.
